DELTA MILLWORKS US LLC is Hiring a Procurement Manager Near Austin, TX

Description

Delta Millworks is a leading manufacturer of wood cladding, flooring, and decking products. We cater to architects, designers, and builders seeking beautiful and sustainable wood products with exceptional performance. Delta was the first company in North America to produce shou-sugi-ban – a charred wood finishing technique with origins in Japan – on a large commercial scale and is growing rapidly.

Founded in 1985 with a focus on reclaimed wood, Delta has reinvented itself over the past decade while remaining family owned and focused on our core goals: pushing the boundaries on the use of wood in today’s design and building industries; telling the story of wood with a creative approach and a focus on the future; promoting and utilizing sustainable practices and clean technologies; and working closely with architects, designers, and builders to add value and beauty to their projects through the use of wood.

We are looking for a passionate, motivated, and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement and inventory management of raw materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Delta Millworks’ Procurement function and manage the team responsible for the Company’s inventory and logistics activities.
  • Order lumber and supplies from vendors with whom we have existing relationships; negotiate costs and terms as needed; and develop key supplier relationships.
  • Handle Sales Department requests for pricing and availability information on custom materials.
  • Work with Management to price out new product lines and find new vendors. Perform market research as needed.
  • Work with the COO and Production Superintendent to refine internal systems and communications to optimize efficiency and process workflows.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of wood species, Delta’s product line, and the overall lumber industry.
  • Create and manage internal process improvement initiatives. Leverage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data metrics to track progress and shortcomings within the department.
  • Lead quarterly and annual inventory counts. Reconcile counts with the ERP inventory.
  • Monitor document control processes within the department. Ensure proper steps are being followed when documenting and updating purchases within the ERP system.
  • Keep vendor records and purchase orders up to date and accurate.
  • Validate rates between purchase orders, item receipts, and vendor bills.

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in procurement and inventory management.
  • 5 years’ experience with an ERP system in managing inventory and purchasing.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to effectively lead and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter mentality with excellent judgment, ability to maintain confidentiality, and proven success in working autonomously.
  • Systems-oriented approach with a keen eye for process improvements and efficiency.
  • Problem solving attitude and ability to work with different departments and staff to develop creative solutions and drive those solutions through to implementation.
  • Working knowledge of the wood industry and/or species is a big plus.
